Let's talk Iran - June 22, 2021
Iran's sham election 'winner' Ebrahim Raisi should be indicted for mass murder
Raisi is on the EU and US sanctions lists for serial human rights violations.
He is a murderer and perpetrator of genocide, who has openly boasted of his role as a member of the ‘death commission’ which oversaw the massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988. LINK
Iran Sends a Message to Biden
The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board:
"... the result of Friday’s presidential election still reveals important truths about the government that the U.S. and Europe are trying to appease on nuclear weapons."
Defenders of the nuclear accord argue that by leaving the deal Donald Trump weakened reformers and empowered men like Mr. Raisi. But conservative clerics have had ultimate power in Iran since the 1979 revolution. Mr. Khamenei supported the accord because it is favorable to the regime. It offers tens of billions of dollars in financial aid and trade revenue while merely delaying the day it can build a bomb.
The folly of the Obama and now Biden administrations is believing that the leaders in Tehran want Iran to be a normal country. They don’t. They run a government that wants to spread its religious revolution to the rest of the world by whatever means possible. Mr. Raisi’s ascension shouts that reality from the minaret, not that the Biden Administration wants to hear it. LINK

Normalizing relations with Iran? Not under their new president
Ebrahim Raisi is best known for his direct role in the summer 1988 massacre of thousands of political prisoners across Iran.
The 1988 massacre has all the hallmarks of crimes against humanity. Families of the dead were not allowed to hold ceremonies or funerals, nor were they told where their loved ones were buried. The Iranian regime buried the bodies in mass graves and to this day has not acknowledged this unspeakable atrocity. LINK
Iran: Calls for Holding Ebrahim Raisi to Account Amplifies
The Iranian people boycotted the regime’s sham election. Organizations like Amnesty International called for holding Raisi accountable. Therefore, the international community faces a choice: to continue dialogue with an illegitimate regime represented by a criminal like Raisi or hold the regime to account for four decades of terrorism and human rights violations.
