Blinken anticipates hundreds of sanctions on Iran to remain in place
"I would anticipate that even in the event of a return to compliance with the JCPOA, hundreds of sanctions will remain in place, including sanctions imposed by the Trump administration. Iran says its stance at nuclear talks not to change after presidential vote
A host of barriers to the revival of the nuclear deal remain firmly in place ahead of talks due to resume this week, suggesting a return to compliance with the accord is still a way off, diplomats, Iranian officials and analysts said.
On Monday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States still does not know whether Iran is ready to resume compliance with the nuclear deal and if Tehran continues to violate the pact, the “breakout time” it needs to amass enough fissile material for a nuclear weapon will shrink to weeks. Hamas chief in Cairo for talks ahead of planned meeting of Palestinian factions
Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh arrived in Cairo on Tuesday for the first in a series of talks this week between Egyptian authorities and Palestinian factions that aims to reinforce a ceasefire with Israel, Palestinian and Egyptian sources said.
Haniyeh’s visit came in response to a special invitation from Cairo, in advance of a broader meeting of Palestinian factions that could begin as early as next week, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem told Reuters. LINK

Iran: prisoner of conscience dies due to lack of medical attention
According to the Human Rights News Agency, Sasan Niknafs was kept in the prison infirmary despite his deteriorating health, where he passed away. Two days prior to his death, there was blood discharge from his mouth and nose, but prison authorities prevented his immediate transfer to a hospital. Instead, he was taken to the prison infirmary.
